Planting in the school garden

Last Wednesday we planted some bulbs in the school garden.

First Danny explained what we had to do.

Danny gave us chives and onions to smell.

The first group planted onions.

The second group planted garlic.

The third group planted spring onions (scallions).

We made a hole with our fingers, we put the seeds in and covered them up.

They will need sun, light and water to grow.

We hope they grow big! 🙂

Thanks to all who visited our classroom to see our experiments on Thursday. As you can see from the pictures and the children’s comments it was an exciting day for all!

All of the experiments will be entered for the Primary Discover Science award.

Discover Science 2013

For Science today we made grassy heads. We used grass seeds, soil and old tights. Then we decorated the heads. Here’s what they looked like when we were finished.

 

We will watch and see what happens over the next few days…
