The winning U11 team
On Thursday 13th of October the Caragh U11 camogie team went to Raheens GAA to play a blitz. There were 5 teams attending, the teams were Caragh, Robertstown, Gaelscoil Chill Dara, Sallins and Ardclough.
Our first match was against Sallins which we won and Leah Mcgovern scored. In our second match we were against Robertstown, the people that scored were Leah and Sarah Mcgovern and Maeve Magner and which gave us another win. The third match was against Gaelscoil Chill Dara, Maeve Magner, Sarah and Leah Mcgovern scored and we continued our winning streak. In the fourth match we were successful again with another win against Ardclough, Grace Shields, Sarah Mcgovern and Martha scored.
Next we found out that we were into the final and we were against Sallins. We were both nervous and excited. The players that scored were Leah and Sarah Mcgovern and Maeve Magner. It was our toughest match so far but we fought hard and were successful in the end. We ended the day with the whole team walking back to the school with our heads held high and the winning cup in our hands. I was delighted and honoured to be picked as captain for the day. It was a great achievement to represent Caragh National School for the U11 camogie team. Congratulations to everyone to that participated in this event, and many thanks to Ms. Greville and Ms. Losty for organising it and for training us during the year.
