U-11 Division 1 Final
First time finalists Caragh took on Kildare in division 1 clash on Tuesday 21stOctober. The match was played in Moorefield, Newbridge. Throw in was at 5pm. Both teams were looking to bring home the cup back to their school. Caragh opened the scoring with two points from Gavin Thompson. Kildare came back with a point. Kildare’s centre back was very strong. Two points came from Luke O’Donovan and Fionn Cooke. David McPartlin scored a late goal to leave the score Caragh 1-5 Kildare 0-1 at halftime.
Caragh were well in front for the second half, but Kildare weren’t giving up. Fionn Cooke opened the second half with a great goal. Straight after Caragh’s goal, Kildare fought back with a goal, but it was too late for Kildare to come back. Caragh replied with 3 points from Fionn Cooke, David McPartlin and Gavin Thompson . Kildare finished the scoring with a final point. Oisín Cooke made a few great saves. Darragh Cunningham, Luke O’Donavan, Dara Crowley, and Paul O’Donnell were also outstanding for Caragh School. We were shown a great game from both teams. Caragh were delighted to win division 1 for the first time ever. Final score 2 – 11 to 1 – 2. Caragh abú!
