On Monday 21st, our 6th class visited Naas racecourse. We were invited as they wanted us to learn more about horse racing and show us what happens behind the scenes at the races. We learned about the daily schedule and diet of a jockey. We also met a racehorse named Osmo Mór.
As part of the tour, there were 5 stations:
-
Meet a Trainer
-
Meet a Jockey
- R.A.C.E (Racing Academy & Centre of Education
- Racecourse Manager
- Front Runner – Racing Club for Kids
My favourite part of the day was meeting the jockey, Jody McGarvey. A number of pupils were also selected to use the horse simulator.
